The recognition
On 13 September 2026, at Palazzo della Farnesina, during the 3rd Italian Sports Day Around the World, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani appointed Marta Maggetti Ambassador for Sports Diplomacy, for windsurfing.
The 2026 edition, "Italy: Land of Enterprises, Sea of Excellence", was dedicated to the sea, water sports and the sports supply chain, ahead of the America's Cup in Naples in 2027.
FIV president Francesco Ettorre recalled that 2027 will be a special year for Italian sailing: the Federation's centenary and the America's Cup in Italy.
